In September 2005, Denmar Enterprises was conceived by Dr. Bernardita Calayan-Brion from her quest for a handheld ultrasound scanner that will fit into her busy Obstetrics-Gynecology Ultrasonography practice.

A patient introduced her to the availability of the portable ultrasound scanners, and from whom she bought two units. The units’ portability and good resolution encouraged Dr. Brion to look for the manufacturer. Since the manufacturer only wanted to exclusively sell to corporate entities, Dr. Brion created Denmar Enterprises as her private firm. Denmar Enterprises is currently the sole distributor of these products here in the Philippines.

Drs. Oscar and Bernardita Brion heavily desired to distribute these products locally because they foresaw the great need for these types of portable ultrasound scanners in the country. Now, with portable ultrasound scanner technology available, imagine some of the endless possibilities that Denmar Enterprises has to offer:
  • An invaluable aid to medical practitioners, especially in rural areas, in the early diagnosis of the medical-surgical problems of their patients;
  • Busy urban medical practitioners can now hop from clinic to clinic with these handheld units without the hassle of carrying “portable” units that meant carrying the weight of a TV set;
  • This will also be a diagnostic tool of the future—the “new stethoscope” of every doctor’s clinic;
  • These units will be useful in ambulances, emergency room units, intensive care units, neonatal intensive care units, clinics of surgeons, cardiologists, and obstetricians, even veterinarians; and lying-in and maternity out-patient clinics.
